Woman Divides The Internet Over Debate On The Best Spoons To Eat With
The internet will debate just about anything if you give them half the chance and this story is a prime example of that principle in action.
This millennial TikTok user has sparked quite a debate and you will not believe what the topic is. She managed to get everyone hot and bothered about spoons! So, what are the best spoons in the silverware drawer?
@Mum.Me.And.Emily is the TikTok user who has gone viral with this video.
It all started when she took two tea teaspoons and compared them. They may have seemed the same but there are some subtle differences that have to be discussed. “I’m really hoping I can find my people here,” she states in the 29-second clip. It has already gotten over 12 million views.
“I have recently found out that there are some people in the world that can go into a cutlery drawer and pick either of these spoons, doesn’t matter to them,” she said. The first spoon that she showed the audience seemed to differ from the second one. It had a more pronounced oval shape to it and the handle was also much lighter. This is very important stuff, you know!
We are teasing a bit but we cannot lie, we were glued to this video. “Is this new neurodivergent stuff that’s going around?” she wondered in the video’s caption. Of course, given how opinionated so many people are on the topic, it’s safe to assume most people feel some kind of way about their cutlery and it’s not a neurodivergent trait.
The comment section devolved into a heated debate before too long. “Option one obviously, number 2 looks violent,” said one viewer. “Option 1! It looks the perfect weight, the curving is just right and the handle edge doesn’t have the rough patterned edging,” another agreed.
“That’s a trick question, it depends on what I’m eating,” said another. Meanwhile, others speculated that it was the second spoon was meant for the consumption of desserts.

In a follow-up video, she decided that it was time to reveal the pick that she decided. “I wasn’t expecting the response that I got on this video,” she said.
The clip has already gotten over 800,000 views, so clearly we are not the only ones who are very interested in this one.

“I’m actually nervous to give my answer, because obviously it’s going to disappoint quite a lot of people,” she said. In the end, option #1 was her pick. “The ridges [of the handle], it’s too sharp,” she reasons. “The spoon is pretty good, but the ridges is just bleh. It bothers me. So this is only ever used for stirring.”
