Girl Attempts Faux Freckles Hack With Hair Dye And It Goes Horribly Wrong
There are hacks that will change your life and there are hacks that need to be avoided at all costs. From the looks of this one, we are going to go out on a huge limb and say that it falls squarely in the latter category.
Since freckles became popular, or faux freckles at least, people have been trying to paint little dots onto their faces in a way that looks semi-natural.
On TikTok, some have begun to use hair dye to create these freckles and if you are worried about this trend, you are not alone. It does not seem too wise and there are already horror stories that are beginning to circulate about it. Root concealer is used in these instances. While it may seem simple, the results are anything but.
So what is the problem here? It all started with makeup artist Sydney Purl, who received lots of praise for bringing the idea to the forefront. She claimed the hack looked very realistic.
Based on her video, the results didn’t look very realistic and definitely couldn’t pass as freckles but they did give her face a faux-freckle look.

This hack may have worked for some but it seems to be a major bust for others. TikToker Chloe Dillon was one of them.
Her clip has received nearly 10 million views and we are not the least bit surprised by that. Fails like these are always going to attract a wide audience. When she closes her eyes and begins to spray, we already knew what was going to happen. Her hand was simply too heavy and that was that.
She is supposed to look natural but that’s not what took place at all. The easiest comparisons that we could come up with are all from children’s films. She looks like a cross between Violet from Willy Wonka and a cartoon character that just had some nefarious plan blow up in their face. We don’t mean to chuckle at her struggles but at least she seems to be a good sport about it.
