Flight Attendant Shares Security Precautions To Take While Traveling
This flight attendant has gone viral, as she is sharing all of her most important hotel security tips.
CiCi, who goes by @cici_inthesky on TikTok, is here to let us know more about the ways that we can keep ourselves safe when we are on vacation. She even takes various safety measures after checking into her hotel room because you can never be too careful.
This is a philosophy that we live by and we are glad to see that CiCi is taking part. Since flight attendants spend more time traveling than we ever will, we listen when they speak. This particular clip is heavily focused on the prospect of safety and we urge our readers to share it with anyone who is going to be traveling in the not so distant future.
The measures that she takes are simple enough. For starters, she is sure to prop her door open. Once this step has been taken, she gives the room a good once over. This includes the closets, the showers, and the spaces behind the curtains. In addition to these steps, she also takes the time to make sure that the room’s phone works.
CiCi then closes her door and covers up her peephole. As an added measure, the latch lock is closed with a hand towel. As she explains, this makes it harder for someone to potentially pick the lock. Her suitcase is kept next to the door as well. This keeps an intruder from having the ability to run a wire or a different sort of lock-picking device along the ground outside the door.
She also advises those who are staying in hotels to know where their fire exits are. If you are going to be leaving the room, she says that your best bet is to keep the TV volume on high, so people will think that the room is still occupied.
Presence is an app that she recommends, too. Thanks to Presence, it has never been easier to turn your device of choice into a security camera. These are excellent tips and we are definitely going to be using them a lot going forward.
