The City Of Madison Held A Contest To Name Its Snowplow Equipment And The Results Didn’t Disappoint
These types of contests are always hysterical to us, as people will typically come up with names that are beyond the pale. It ends up being a competition to see who can conjure up the most ridiculous idea and we are 100 percent fine with that.
In this particular instance, the competition took place in Madison, Wisconsin. The town wanted to give the people the chance to name their own snow plow.

The results are in and as you would expect, things got extremely silly.
There were four different machines that the townspeople had the chance to vote on. They were given the opportunity to name a quad axle brine truck, a trackless bike path plow, a dual wing plow truck, and a loader with plow and wing. Of course, the turnout was nothing to sneeze at.

“The turnout was fantastic!” said a City of Madison spokesperson in a recent statement. “We received well over 3,000 votes for each of the four pieces of equipment. We’d like to thank Wisconsin Salt Wise for hosting this election for us. And thank you one and all for participating in this election, from submitting names to voting.”
The quad axle brine truck’s name is going to be Saltimus Prime but Brinestone Cowboy was right there in the running as well. “While Saltimus is more than meets the eye, there’s no disguising the positive effect the saltwater brine treatment can have when it rolls out to treat the roads prior to snowstorms,” said the spokesperson. The bike path plow will be known as Snowbi Wan Kenobi.

“From a certain point of view, Snowbi Wan is an elegant plow vehicle for our bicycling age. May the Force be with Snowbi Wan, always,” the town shares. The name that they came up with for the dual-wing plow truck is our favorite, though. This piece of equipment is now going to be known as Dolly Plowton.
“Dolly is the best little plow truck in Madison, working much longer hours than just 9 to 5. It is known for creating the wintry favorites ‘I Will Always Plow You (In)’ and ‘Snowlene’ during the same overnight shift.” As for the loader with plow and wing? This vehicle will be called Seymour Pavement. “Seymour sounds more like a name for a dentist than a plow truck, which made this was a close race to the end. But voters kept feeding ballots to him and then, suddenly, Seymour won!”
