Why You Should Never Post Pictures Of Your Vacation While Traveling
We live in a world where it is super simple to share pictures with friends and family. All we do is grab our phone, turn the camera so that it is pointing at us, and before we know it, we are the star of the show.
Sharing those pictures is also easy because we can just share them with everybody at the same time. We post pics on Facebook or perhaps on Instagram and watch as the likes come rolling in.

If you’re somebody who enjoys sharing pictures of your vacation, you may want to tone it down a notch. Experts are now warning those who post those pictures that they could be losing a lot of money in the process.
Essentially, if you post pictures of yourself on vacation while you’re away and your home is broken into, you may not be able to collect any insurance money. Essentially, bad guys had an opportunity to know your location and that may make you liable for the money you lose.
Approximately one out of every 12 people in England have been robbed, according to a survey from 2019. Those individuals were not robbed at random, they were robbed because they tagged themselves as away from home.

A financial expert from NerdWallet, Holly Bennetts, said that you should always consider the ramifications before posting pictures online. In speaking with Whales Line, she said:
“At the risk of sounding like a killjoy, you could be creating easy pickings for potential thieves while your home is unoccupied.
If you make a claim after a break-in that happened while you were away, and the insurer checks your profile, these social media posts may not help your cause.”

There were also many others who came forward to talk about the dangers of letting people know that you are away.
If you want to share pictures, share them privately. Sharing them online is inviting trouble and if trouble follows, you may not be covered for it.
