Toy Story fans everywhere, unite! 2022 is here and we will soon be watching one of the most anticipated films that this year has to offer.

Disney and Pixar are now providing fans with a closer look and we assure you, this flick is worth the wait. The “real” Buzz Lightyear’s story has yet to be told but that day is rapidly approaching.

They are going to be telling the story of the adventures that the “real” Buzz Lightyear went on, adventures that inspired the toy. Buzz Lightyear is voiced by the one and only Chris Evans, in a very nice touch. From the looks of it, he and his colleagues have made their way to a mysterious planet that does not appear to be all that friendly.

“A year of work for a four-minute flight. Isn’t that something?” says Buzz in the trailer, as he takes a closer look at their launch site. The team has been trapped on the faraway planet for a year and when we catch up with them, they are about to launch a test flight that will hopefully allow them to return home. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Pixar movie without the addition of some new and fun characters.

Sox, Lightyear’s robot companion cat (voiced by Pixar artist Peter Sohn), is already looking to become one of our new favorites. There are also some awesome nods to the original series. Can you believe that there is a gigantic robot that looks an awful lot like Emperor Zurg? The vocal cast is absolutely stacked as well. It’s a literal who’s who of the hottest names in Hollywood.

Taika Waititi, Uzo Aduba, Keke Palmer, Mary McDonald-Lewis, Efren Ramirez, and Isaiah Whitlock Jr. are all included among the vocal cast. Meanwhile, Josh Brolin, who voiced Emperor Zurg in the original films, will be rounding out this murderer’s row.

As for Chris Evans, he was overjoyed to find out that he would be playing this role. “I can say 2 things with absolute confidence: 1.. I didn’t stop smiling through the ENTIRE pitch. Ear to ear. 2. Everyone can rest easy. And get very excited. Trust me when I say that they REALLY know what they’re doing over there. This one is gonna special, and it doesn’t step on a single thing. I can’t even put my excitement into words. I smile every time I think about it”, he said on Instagram after the casting news came down.
