Servers Share Their Biggest Pet Peeves Of Waiting Tables
The service industry can be a huge pain in the backside, right? That’s why it is important to listen to these workers when they speak. You simply never know when you might be the one who is actually making someone’s job much harder than it has to be.
TikTok user @bobbiswan is the waitress who is sharing her gripes and the world of TikTok has already rallied around her.
This video was not strictly about her complaints, either. She gave her coworkers the chance to vent and a few common concerns seemed to emerge. Waitresses really do not like to be snapped at and this should have gone without saying. In the words of one of these service workers, they are not dogs. However, people will often lose sight of this because they do not know how to act.
Restaurant employees are not there for you to berate. We hope that someone who saw this clip is amending their behavior right now. It is time to think better about the way that we act when we are out to eat.
“When I’m carrying a tray full of plates and an armful of cups, and somebody snaps their fingers and is like, ‘Hey, can you do this for me on the spot,’” one waiter said. Customers were also called out for cutting their waiters and waitresses off. Meanwhile, another waitress is annoyed when people act like they are ready to order and they are not.
Customers will also talk over each other, refuse to listen to staff, and generally make a nuisance of themselves. If these are things that you have done in the past, this is the time to correct them. There is no time like the present. The users that we saw seemed to be pretty sympathetic to their plight, understandably so.
“Mine was people forgetting what they ordered,” said one commenter. “These plates are burning my arms. Somebody claim their Fiesta Lime Chicken — now.” The comment that made us laugh most came from the person who said that their pet peeve was people and that they would not be elaborating.
