TSA agents do not have the easiest job in the world and we respect them to the fullest. We could not handle their daily duties if we are being totally honest. That’s what makes this story such an incredible one. This is the tale of one special TSA agent who went above and beyond to make sure that a young traveler was okay.

The scene unfolded at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, where a mother was stricken with panic when her two-month-old child was no longer breathing.

The mother called out for help when she lifted the child out of his car seat carrier and noticed the issue. Cecilia Morales wasted no time jumping right into action and she deserves to be commended for the assistance she’s provided.

Fortunately, she was able to draw on the ten years of experience she had as a trained emergency medical technician. At first, she was trying her best to relay the necessary instructions on how to perform the Heimlich maneuver to the mother. It did not take long before she realized that the mother was too panicked to successfully apply the lesson that was being taught.

“But [the mother] was so nervous and I knew if I didn’t get over there, it wasn’t going to be a good outcome,” said Morales in the video below. The security camera footage here is amazing, as they captured Morales in action. She lifted the child onto her arm, rested him face down, and patted his back. She did so while making sure that his airway remained open.

It was not long before the child’s breathing was restored and she was hailed as a hero. We shudder to think of what might have happened if this fast-thinking TSA agent was not there.

Our heart goes out to this mother, who found herself in an impossible situation. Paramedics arrived soon after and gave the child oxygen.

It is our pleasure to report that the child is doing just fine now. Morales, for her part, does not think of herself as being a hero. “It was just a reaction, I didn’t even have to think about it,” she said. She’s very modest, isn’t she? K

udos to Morales for being willing to act quickly during a crisis situation. We are sure that this child’s family is very grateful for what has taken place here. Watch her in action in the video below:
