Say the word “dumpling” and most people will conjure up images of soup. But, you can very easily make a sweet, dessert version of this classic treat that comes together with only minimal effort. These caramel apple dumplings combine 2 classic flavors in a soft apple pudding that’s surrounded by a sweet sauce. And, since the dumplings actually cook in the caramel they’re even more packed with delicious flavor.
To begin making this recipe you’ll need some peeled and diced Granny Smith apple. It’s ideal to cut them into pretty small pieces since they’ll mix into the dough of the dumplings much better that way. The dough also has some cinnamon, vanilla, and allspice to bring out the apple flavor a bit more.

To make the caramel sauce is also really easy. This simple mixture is just butter, water, and brown sugar. Allow this to come to a low boil.

Once you’ve got the dough made you simply drop it into the sauce by heaping spoonfuls and then cover it. Let it cook for 20 minutes without opening the lid. What you end up with is a gorgeous sweet that’s perfect with paired with just a bit of vanilla ice cream.

However you serve this dessert you are in for a real treat with these sticky, gooey, tender caramel apple dumplings. The next time you’re looking for a quick and easy dessert this one is ready in less than half an hour and requires no oven. It’s a must-try recipe for anyone who loves a good sweet treat.
