If you’re a fan of sweet and salty combos, let me introduce you to Idaho Janes. This crowd-pleasing candy is proof that sometimes the most unexpected ingredients make for the tastiest treats. Made with just three simple ingredients— white chocolate, walnuts, and crushed potato chips— these little candy mounds strike the perfect balance and leave you wanting just one more! Whether you’re looking for more holiday recipes or just wanting an easy dessert to whip up with the kids, these Idaho Janes are bound to be a hit.

For this recipe, I recommend using Ruffles potato chips. Their ridges give just the right amount of crunch and salty flavor. But don’t worry if this brand isn’t available, any plain potato chip will do. Add a handful of chopped walnuts for some nutty notes, and then mix in a full bag of melted chocolate chips. Whether you want to go with white or standard chocolate is up to you. A darker chocolate will definitely tone down the sweetness if you want a more subtly sweet treat.

Using a cookie scoop to form the mounds makes the final step super easy, then you just need to wait until the chocolate fully cools. Easy as that, your Idaho Janes are ready to be bagged up as gifts or enjoyed right away, we won’t judge. Give the recipe a try and your taste buds will thank you!
